Actual results are verified on my own RV8 resulting in 1 in. increase in MP @ 200mph. The GPS airspeed on a Harmon Rocket with this system went from 220kts to 227kts. With increased MP at altitude less drag in thinner air will provide:

John Huft was nice enough to share an idea with me of using a ram air valve attached to the front of a K&N filter. When the RAM AIR was activated I discovered that some of the INCREASED PRESSURE was forced out through the filter into the bootom cowl. This situation was resolved using a canister around the filter to capture the extra BOOST PRESSURE. The aluminum canister has four 3 ” reed valves that provide filtered air from inside the cowl. The FILTERED AIR feature is activated during taxi/take off and icing conditions. The RAM AIR VALVE is normally used after takeoff when clean air is available.
This is now a complete “SELF CONTAINED ALUMINUM RAM AIR SYSTEM” that is totally rubber shock mounted. EASE OF INSTALLATION will save weeks of building time.
