Canopy Lock Installation Guide

The 1 in. .063 white washer is used on the RV8  and the F1 Rocket  only. “NOT USED” on the RV6,7,9 Series aircraft.

FIRST STEP

Slide the canopy to the desired position for cockpit venting and mark the position  for the hole to be drilled. Drill the hole using a D drill and supplied drill guide. Ream  to ¼ in.

SECOND STEP

Slide canopy forward and close latch. Install the canopy lock and measure distance from the lock  to where the canopy skirt contacts the slider guide.

THIRD STEP

Cut the plastic spacer to length  using a table saw.

The white spacer is used when a fully locked canopy is desired. This will allow most canopy covers to fit.

It is suggested that a piece of  shrink wrap be installed on the lock to prevent damage to the paint on the skirt when the vent position is used.
